"ART IS A METHOD OF EXEMPLIFYING THE RICHNESS THAT IS IN ALL CULTURES

My works are a reflection of a rich culture full of family traditions and people who live their life with love and passion. My work has been described as fresh with translucent vibrant colors by using mixed in mediums. I often paint series of characters that are rich in culture and ring with rapturous humor. Using my surroundings for subject matter brings inspiration forth resulting in a whimsical fresh approach. I think you will always find something to smile about when you view my work.

I’ve received an associate of Arts Degree from Pasadena City College and Cal State Los Angeles. Art combined with helping people in need is my passion. I have been working with homeless women and children to secure them housing and a safe place to live for over 20 years. I have been able to combine my job as a caseworker by using art as a healing tool for the homeless population I work with." -- J. Miles
